ORDINANCE NUMBER 519
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT WATER METERS BE READ IN ALTERNATE MONTHS
Be it enacted by the City Council of the City of Ida Grove, Iowa, that:
SECTION I.
Title VI, Chapter 2, Article 3, Section 4(1) (6-1.0304(1)) is hereby amended to read as follows:
Meters Read. Water meters shall be read on or about the 15th day of every other month. Water and sewer bills shall continue to be issued and due monthly. Not withstanding any other provision in these ordinances, water and sewer bills shall be determined on an estimated basis for the first month of each two-month cycle. The bill for the second month shall be calculated as the difference between actual usage for the two-month period and the estimated usage for the first month. The bill for the first several months for a new customer shall be based on actual monthly usage at the location, which will require monthly meter reading for those first several months.
SECTION II.
WHEN EFFECTIVE. This Ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
SECTION III.
If any portion of this Ordinance is determined to be invalid, such determination shall not effect the remainder of the Ordinance.
