The City Council of the City of Ida Grove met in special session at the Council Chambers at 5:00 p.m. to develop a City Crew Foreman job description, compensation, and written consent to return to the City Crew and interview City Clerk applicants.Mayor Dennis R. Ernst presiding.Councilmembers present: William Carnine, Paul Bargar, James Weary, Paul Cates. Councilmembers absent: None. Guests in attendance: Matt Salvatore.
Moved to approve the agenda as presented.
Approved unanimously.
Mayor Ernst opened the meeting and stated this was the time for the Council to develop a city crew foreman job description, compensation, and written consent for the city crew foreman to return to the city crew.
The Mayor informed the Council that Gerrod Sholty, who had applied for the position, asked that the Mayor and Council wait three months before doing anything because things were working better.
The Council discussed the request, each councilman was polled, and they agreed to wait three months, with a monthly report.
Mayor Ernst presented his proposed job description to the City Clerk and Council for review.
This being the time and place for interviews for the City Clerks position the Council proceeded.
The Council interviewed Cindy Murray, Ida Grove; Ann Homan; Ida Grove; Edie Ball, Pisgah; Jacob (Jake) Anderson, Storm Lake; Jana Bubke, Danbury.
The Council evaluated each applicant from 1 to 10 and each individual stated their ranking.
Moved to offer the City Clerks position to Edie Ball first and if she isnt interested to Cindy Murray second.
Ayes: William Carnine, Paul Cates.
Nays: James Weary, Paul Bargar.
Discussion was held on the applicants and their qualifications and when they would be able to start work.
Moved to offer the City Clerks position to Cindy Murray first and if she isnt interested to Edie Ball second.
Approved unanimously.
Moved to start Cindy Murray at $30,000.00 and when satisfactorily completing three months of probation the salary will be increased to $32,500.00 and after satisfactorily completing six months of probation the salary will be increased to $35,000.00 with regular evaluation annually.
Approved unanimously.
Moved to adjourn subject to the call of the Mayor.
Approved unanimously.
